Setting Up an Event in Springfield
A city event has constraints a backyard doesn't — permits, pavement, old wiring, narrow access. Here's what actually decides whether your setup works, and what to sort out before you book.

If you're in a Springfield city park you need a permit from the Parks Department, and most want it well in advance rather than the week of. Many also require a certificate of insurance naming the City of Springfield, which we issue at no charge. Start the permit conversation before you lock a date with us — the park calendar is the harder of the two to move.
Pavement means ballast, not stakes
On blacktop, a parking lot or a school yard we can't drive stakes, so we anchor with weight instead. That's different equipment and a longer setup, so we need to know before the truck loads. Tell us the surface when you book — 'the back lot' and 'the back lawn' are very different jobs. We can't set up on gravel or anything sharp at all.
Power in older buildings
Much of Springfield's housing stock is pre-war and the circuits are shared further than you'd expect. Every inflatable runs a blower continuously, each drawing about what a hair dryer does. Two on one circuit is usually fine; three will trip the breaker, generally about an hour in when everything is full of kids. Spread units across separate circuits — an outside outlet, a basement outlet and a kitchen outlet are often on different breakers. No outlet in range at all? We rent a generator.
Access, gates and stairs
City lots are tight, and plenty of Springfield homes have a narrow side gate or a flight of steps to the back. Everything rolls in on a dolly and needs a clear path about three feet wide. Measure the gate, tell us about stairs, and unlock whatever we'll need to get through. If we can't get the unit in, that decision happens on your driveway on the day.
Block parties and street closures
A closed street is a genuinely great venue, but the closure permit comes from the city and takes lead time. Once it's approved, tell us where the barriers will sit so we can plan truck access — we can't always get down a street that's already blocked at both ends. Worth agreeing a drop point with your neighbours in advance.
Noise, hours and neighbours
Springfield has noise ordinances and most park permits carry an end time. Blowers run the whole time a unit is inflated and they aren't silent, so on a tight street it's worth telling the neighbours the plan.
